Pure Wood Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of geometric principles and natural elements in contemporary living spaces. Completed in 2014 in Taipei, this 120-square-meter dwelling showcases a remarkable ceiling design inspired by origami principles, featuring three-dimensional slopes and intricate geometric modeling that creates a dynamic visual experience throughout the space. The design's most distinctive feature is its triangular lighting arrangement, which evokes the serene imagery of ripples on a quiet lake, while the thoughtfully executed transition from the entrance to the study area demonstrates masterful spatial planning. The interior composition artfully combines stone-grain and wood-grain elements with precise lighting placement, establishing a natural and welcoming atmosphere that balances modern aesthetics with comfortable living. The project, designed by Ling Chihmo and Lin Yaoping, employs sophisticated construction techniques, including laser instrumentation and precise twine measurements to achieve exceptionally accurate and smooth surfaces. The innovative ceiling design, which modifies the main girder using paper folding principles, extends irregularly across multiple dimensions, creating a unique spatial experience that earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design philosophy emphasizes quality white space and spatial continuity, with the living areas thoughtfully divided into functional units while maintaining an open, flowing layout that enhances the overall living experience.
