Pure Processional Views Residence

Pure Processional Views Residence

Pure Processional Views Residence is an award-winning architectural interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of Chinese Fengshui principles with contemporary spatial design. Located in Yilan City, Taiwan, this 90-square-meter residence masterfully incorporates traditional Chinese architectural elements while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic through its predominant white color scheme. The design, conceived by Tzu-Hsien Chang, demonstrates exceptional attention to the interplay between natural light and architectural elements, featuring hand-crafted light grey walls, cast stone, and ultra scratch-proof timber flooring. The project's distinctive approach to spatial organization employs transparent high-height cabinet volumes to create corridor imagery characteristic of Chinese architecture, effectively breaking conventional spatial frameworks. The interior design emphasizes the creation of fluid, interconnected domains rather than rigid demarcations, fostering an environment of serenity and pure comfort. The residence's public and private spaces are thoughtfully connected through a symmetrical main wall design incorporating a fireplace, while transparent cabinet racks in public areas allow for organic visual flow. The project, completed in March 2016, received recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential design. The design's success lies in its ability to balance functional requirements with aesthetic considerations, creating a space that serves both as a solitary retreat and a welcoming environment for social gatherings, while maintaining strong connections to natural elements through carefully considered material selection and lighting design.
