Pure Chair is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary ergonomic principles. Conceived by designers Xu Le and Chen Xin, this sophisticated seating solution draws inspiration from the Ming dynasty's classic swivel chair while incorporating modern design sensibilities. The chair's design philosophy stems from the Taoist concept that natural beauty is eternal, as expressed in Zhuangzi's Heaven, which influences its minimalist yet elegant form. Measuring 597x484x760 millimeters, the chair features carefully considered proportions and flowing lines that create a harmonious visual balance. Crafted from premium beech and North American walnut, the chair employs traditional tenon-and-mortise joinery techniques, demonstrating exceptional structural integrity while facilitating efficient production processes. The ergonomically curved seat cushion and refined backrest design ensure optimal comfort, while the graceful transitions between components reflect sophisticated craftsmanship. The chair's development, spanning from April 2017 to August 2019, involved extensive research into anthropometric data and traditional furniture construction methods.
