Profound Residential Space
Profound Residential Space is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies a contemporary reinterpretation of Le Corbusier's Five Points of Architecture within the context of modern living spaces. This 92.5-square-meter residential project, completed in September 2020 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to spatial reorganization and functional integration. The design philosophy centers on transforming Le Corbusier's architectural principles into interior design elements, featuring free design of facade, open floor plans, horizontal windows, and an innovative interpretation of pilotis through extended ceiling heights. The project's distinctive approach to lighting and spatial division employs a thoughtful contrast of dark gray and natural paint finishes to create visual layers within the space. A centrally positioned study room serves as both a light well and a functional pivot point, introducing natural illumination throughout the interior while maintaining privacy through careful spatial separation. The design showcases exceptional material sensitivity, incorporating eco-friendly wood and EEWH-certified materials, with natural paints selected to highlight authentic textures. The project's success in balancing aesthetic considerations with practical functionality earned it recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to innovative residential design. The space demonstrates particular excellence in its approach to natural ventilation, thermal comfort, and the creation of distinct yet harmonious living zones, while maintaining a strong connection to both traditional design principles and contemporary sustainable practices.
