Private Interior Penthouse Flat

Private Interior Penthouse Flat

Private Interior Penthouse Flat is an exemplary architectural interior design achievement that demonstrates sophisticated spatial planning and luxurious living across multiple levels. Located in Monza's city center, this remarkable residential space emerged from the strategic fusion of several residential units, embodying a harmonious balance between private sanctuary and social entertainment areas. The design philosophy manifests through a deliberate dichotomy between the lower and upper floors, where the former features dark, warm tones creating an intimate private sphere, while the latter embraces natural light through expansive skylights measuring 6x2 meters each. A striking architectural element - a wide steel staircase enclosed by 4.5-meter-high smoked glass panels and a suspended balustrade - serves as the vertical connector between these distinct zones. The material palette showcases exceptional sophistication through the integration of brushed white oak flooring, natural steel wall cladding, and bespoke elements including a black glass entrance pod and bronze mesh sliding doors. The design draws inspiration from various architectural elements, including the Arabic mashrabiyya for the lower floor's window treatments and the Giant's Causeway for the rooftop's extruded elements, which frame views of the historic cathedral. The interior program accommodates a family of four, featuring three bedrooms with private bathrooms, a studio, and extensive communal areas including a cinema room, gym, sauna, and a verdant veranda. This project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space Design, exemplifies how contemporary luxury residential design can successfully merge sophisticated aesthetics with practical functionality, creating spaces that enhance the quality of daily living while maintaining architectural excellence.
