President Office is an exemplary interior design project that masterfully combines functionality with artistic sensibility, spanning 600 square meters within the prestigious Daheng Building in Beijing's Haidian District. This sophisticated workspace, completed in November 2022, represents a harmonious fusion of Japanese minimalist aesthetics and contemporary office design principles. The layout thoughtfully incorporates distinct zones, beginning with a secretary's work area at the entrance, featuring a streamlined storage and display system that balances practicality with visual appeal. The design's innovative approach transforms the traditional corridor concept into an art gallery, allowing for the display of the client's art collection through carefully curated wall spaces and custom display cabinets. The waiting area employs glass curtain walls to maximize natural light and create transparency, while the main office space seamlessly integrates storage solutions with artistic display elements. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional material selection including 800x800mm carpeting, metal accents, wood veneer, and sophisticated ambient lighting systems. Despite facing significant challenges during construction due to pandemic-related material transportation issues, the design successfully creates a space that balances professional functionality with artistic sophistication, demonstrating designer Liyan Zhang's expertise in creating meaningful spatial experiences that elevate the standard of executive office environments.
