Pont Wardrobe is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functionality and compact living solutions, created by Russian designer Elena Zaznobina. This sophisticated wardrobe system, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2019, draws inspiration from the influential works of Gio Ponti and the aesthetic sensibilities of the 1960s, incorporating minimalist design principles with multifunctional features. The wardrobe's distinctive characteristics include its space-efficient dimensions of 600mm width, 600mm depth, and 2100mm height, making it particularly suitable for small living spaces while maintaining comprehensive storage capabilities. Constructed using a thoughtful combination of solid wood, MDF, and plywood, the wardrobe features a sophisticated finish combining matt varnish RAL 200 80 05 for the case and door exterior, with gloss varnish RAL 190 60 15 for the eaves and plinth, complemented by white oak veneer accents in the niche area. The design incorporates several innovative features, including an integrated niche that functions as a bedside table with built-in lighting and electrical outlets for charging devices, separate compartments for both short and long garments, two dedicated linen drawers at the base, and a full-length mirror mounted on the door's interior. The color palette, inspired by natural Oakmoss tones, reflects a sophisticated understanding of contemporary interior design preferences while paying homage to mid-century modern aesthetics. This award-winning design demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its construction and functionality, offering a practical solution for modern living spaces while maintaining aesthetic excellence.
