Polyot Restaurant

Polyot Restaurant is a groundbreaking futuristic dining establishment that revolutionizes the conventional restaurant experience through its innovative interior design and architectural elements. Conceived by designers Julien Albertini and Alina Pimkina, this avant-garde space seamlessly integrates science fiction aesthetics with functional dining requirements, creating an immersive environment that transports guests into a realm reminiscent of interplanetary travel. The restaurant's design philosophy centers on minimalist principles, deliberately departing from traditional Moscow restaurant aesthetics by eschewing conventional patterns and ornamental elements in favor of clean lines and striking metallic features. Notable architectural elements include sleek steel formations and distinctive portholes at the entrance, evoking the atmosphere of a space shuttle cabin. The interior's focal points include impressive 3.6-meter-tall silver Martian goddess figures mounted on symmetrical columns, and a monumental 6-meter-high concrete art installation. The design team, which included architect Ilya Mozgunov, designer Anna Lutaeva, illustrator Igor Khrupin, and technical designer Denis Kleimenov, successfully addressed the challenge of creating cozy futurism - a sophisticated balance between forward-looking design and comfortable ambiance. The project, completed between May 2018 and July 2019, earned the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its exceptional contribution to contemporary restaurant design. The space's design draws inspiration from 20th-century futuristic movements and literary works such as Dune, resulting in an environment that suggests an otherworldly dining experience while maintaining functional practicality through custom-designed furniture and lighting elements.
