Poly Tianhuan Garden Garden is an innovative landscape architecture project that exemplifies the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Chinese garden design principles, situated in Foshan, Guangdong. This sophisticated landscaping system, developed during 2017-2018, encompasses 19,368 square meters and masterfully integrates artificial green hills within an urban context, creating a harmonious dialogue between built environment and nature. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from classical Chinese garden typology, where architecture and landscape seamlessly merge to create multi-dimensional spatial experiences. The project's distinctive features include undulating topographic changes and curvilinear surfaces that simulate natural environments, utilizing white hemp granite for pavements and concrete for fluid, organic forms. The landscape serves as a sophisticated mediator between interior and exterior spaces, effectively blurring traditional boundaries while maintaining functional versatility. The design incorporates sequential spatial organization, offering users multiple discovery points and varying depths of experience. The project's material palette combines natural stones, woods, and diverse planting elements, complemented by perforated metal plate furniture, creating a cohesive aesthetic experience. This innovative approach to landscape design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary landscape architecture. The garden's design successfully addresses complex programmatic requirements, functioning initially as a semi-public space before transitioning to a semi-private residential amenity, demonstrating remarkable adaptability in its spatial programming.
