Poetical Tableware Combination is an innovative ceramic tableware design that transforms traditional dining implements into aesthetic art pieces through a unique modular system. This groundbreaking design, created by a team of designers including Jia Jing, Wang Aihong, Liang Chao, Xu Chen, and Lan Zhongliang, addresses the conventional limitations of tableware by introducing a dual-purpose functionality that seamlessly integrates dining utility with decorative value. Developed between April 2009 and August 2010 in China, this design employs traditional Chinese porcelain craftsmanship to create plates and bowls that can be arranged into landscape-inspired compositions when not in use for dining. The design's distinctive approach challenges the typical fate of tableware being stored away in cupboards by offering an alternative display function that enriches living spaces with artistic arrangements reminiscent of traditional Chinese landscape paintings. Through careful consideration of form and function, each piece is crafted to serve both as practical dining ware and as components of a larger decorative assembly, effectively solving the space utilization challenges common to traditional tableware while adding aesthetic value to interior spaces. The innovative concept earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, acknowledging its contribution to reimagining everyday objects through the lens of artistic expression and practical functionality.
