Poetic And Artistic Residential House

Poetic and Artistic Residential House is an innovative residential architecture project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary spatial design principles. Located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, this five-story, 480-square-meter dwelling represents a significant departure from conventional penetrating house designs, addressing the challenges of narrow width and deep layout through sophisticated spatial reorganization. The design, created by Byrant Hong, revolutionizes the traditional Love Ladder concept by implementing a vertical division between public and private spaces, with the first two floors dedicated to communal areas and the upper three levels housing private quarters for three generations of family members. The interior design demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, featuring a dramatic rock veneer wall that extends from the first to the second floor, creating a visually striking high patio that enables light and sound penetration between levels. The reception tea room showcases an masterful interpretation of Chinese classical aesthetics, incorporating natural patterns, wooden shutters, and thoughtfully curated furniture arrangements that evoke traditional poetry and painting. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, distinguishes itself through innovative spatial planning, particularly in its treatment of natural light and visual expansion through strategic use of tea mirrors and grid decorations, effectively transforming the conventional constraints of a narrow townhouse into architectural advantages.
