Developed by biomedical engineers and industrial designers Wang Zhong and Liu Peng, this groundbreaking furniture design features a distinctive low-poly structure that creates an optimal curve for neck and head support, incorporating anthropometric and ergonomic data to determine the most effective supporting height and pressure-relieving angle. The pillow's most distinguished feature is its sophisticated internal speaker system, which operates without an external power source and delivers high-quality, acoustically adjusted sound through imperceptible speakers protected by specially designed silicone covers. Measuring 640mm in width, 380mm in depth, and 130mm in height, the pillow utilizes close-cell memory foam construction and is encased in a specialized blended fabric that provides temperature-adaptive comfort - cooling in summer and warming in winter. The design's 52 distinct surfaces allow users to find their optimal sleeping position, while the integrated audio system, accessible via a 3.5mm connection, enables users to enjoy natural soundscapes such as ocean waves, forest ambiance, and fireplace sounds through an accompanying application. This innovative approach to addressing sleep-related challenges, particularly targeting the approximately 30 percent of the global population affected by insomnia, earned the design a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, recognizing its exceptional combination of functionality, innovation, and user-centered design principles.
