Piano With Forest Restaurant

Piano With Forest Restaurant

Piano with Forest Restaurant is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in 2017 in Taichung, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates musical elements with natural aesthetics to create a unique dining experience. The three-story, 1,752-square-meter establishment represents a groundbreaking approach to restaurant design, distinguished by its harmonious fusion of urban architecture with forest-inspired elements. The design concept revolves around a piano motif, featuring Taiwan's largest piano key walkway leading to the entrance, where pioneering handmade wooden-like printing techniques replicate patterns from Alishan's historic God Tree. The restaurant's sophisticated interior showcases numerous architectural innovations, including titanium metal wall treatments at reception, laser-cut tree trunk patterns on glass doors, and a strategic arrangement of windows that maximize natural light penetration. A central atrium serves as the heart of the space, while a distinctive sky-bridge on the second floor accommodates wedding celebrations, enabling unique guest interactions. The design employs complex structural elements that create a dynamic interplay between interior and exterior spaces, with dancing shadows cast by steel framework and natural light throughout the day. This exceptional project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates remarkable achievement in combining modern urban architecture with biophilic design principles. The restaurant's design philosophy emphasizes the importance of bringing nature into urban spaces while creating an atmosphere that promotes relaxation and social interaction, effectively addressing the contemporary challenge of incorporating green spaces within dense city environments.
