Photosynthesis Of Space Residential House
Photosynthesis of Space Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural light and spatial composition in contemporary home design. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this 180-square-meter split-level residence showcases a sophisticated approach to interior architecture through its masterful manipulation of light and shadow as primary decorative elements. The design, conceived by Chien-Hung Lu, employs a refined color palette dominated by black, white, and gray tones, deliberately minimizing wood elements to emphasize the interplay of light throughout the space. The lower floor features an open-plan public area encompassing the dining room, kitchen, and living room, characterized by premium materials including marble, painted iron accents, walnut, and teak, all carefully selected to enhance the non-chromatic aesthetic scheme. The design's distinctive features include a gray marble TV wall, dark oak wall treatments, and a statement walnut dining table, all of which contribute to the space's contemporary minimalist atmosphere. The private areas, situated in the rear of the house, demonstrate remarkable versatility in addressing different aesthetic preferences through distinct material treatments, featuring light black, dark walnut, and dark gray finishes in separate rooms. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, is particularly notable for its innovative approach to natural ventilation and its artistic interpretation of organic elements, such as the granite hallway designed to evoke fallen leaves. The design successfully balances functional requirements with aesthetic refinement, creating a sophisticated living environment that responds dynamically to changing daylight conditions.
