PEGTOP Cup is an innovative beverage vessel that revolutionizes the traditional coffee and tea drinking experience through its unique self-mixing functionality. Designed by Anastasia Gavrilova and Rafael Gaynullin, this sophisticated piece of tableware eliminates the need for conventional stirring implements through its ingenious rotating mechanism. The design features a distinctive pear-shaped form with strategically placed ribs inclined towards the direction of rotation, enabling efficient mixing while preventing liquid spillage. The cup, which can be crafted from ceramics, porcelain, or glass, measures 90 millimeters in all dimensions and sits atop a specially designed 130-millimeter square saucer with a height of 11 millimeters. With a useful volume of 230 milliliters and a full capacity of 300 milliliters, the PEGTOP Cup operates on a pivot-center mechanism that allows it to rotate smoothly on its saucer with a simple hand push, transforming the mundane act of stirring into an engaging and aesthetically pleasing experience. The design, which was developed between January 2012 and March 2014, represents a significant advancement in drinkware design, combining functional innovation with artistic elegance. The creation process involved multiple prototyping phases, from handcrafted models to 3D-printed versions, ultimately resulting in a design that garnered international recognition, including the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to innovative kitchenware design.
