Peace Of Mind From The Distant Vision Living Space

Peace of Mind from the Distant Vision Living Space is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural surroundings with minimalist living spaces, created for a retired couple returning to their hometown in Taiwan. This thoughtfully conceived residential design, completed in June 2020, masterfully capitalizes on its privileged location adjacent to a river with panoramic views of Guanyin Mountain, establishing a profound connection between interior and exterior environments. The project's philosophical foundation rests on the principle of reduction from complexity to simplicity, where the natural environment serves as the primary design axis. Developed by Chih-Chen Chang, a veteran designer with over two decades of experience in interior architecture, the space embodies a sophisticated approach to retirement living that prioritizes tranquility and visual connection to nature. The design's distinctive characteristics include its deliberate simplification of interior elements, allowing the external landscape to become the focal point of daily living experiences. This innovative approach to residential design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial organization, material selection, and environmental integration. The project demonstrates exceptional consideration for its users' lifestyle transition, transforming a standard living space into a contemplative environment that celebrates the serenity of its natural surroundings while maintaining functional efficiency and aesthetic refinement.
