Pandora's Red Box Interior Design is a distinctive restaurant interior design project completed in 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates American sports bar aesthetics with innovative spatial solutions in a compact 77-square-meter space. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, draws inspiration from the mythological Pandora's box concept, predominantly utilizing red as its signature color to create an atmosphere of intrigue and discovery. The centerpiece of the design is an ingeniously crafted boomerang-shaped bar that simultaneously addresses practical functionality and creates a striking visual focal point. The interior showcases a sophisticated blend of industrial LOFT aesthetics and sustainable design principles, featuring thoughtfully repurposed materials such as construction waste transformed into decorative elements, rough red brick walls that evoke nostalgia, and innovative glass curtain partitions that separate smoking and non-smoking areas while maintaining spatial fluidity. The glass curtain system, designed with four faces and 16 structural points, demonstrates exceptional engineering consideration for ventilation requirements. Notable design elements include a 16-palace grid tool kit repurposed as decor, vintage deck woods adorning pillar columns, copper accents along the staircase, and vapor-proof derrick lighting fixtures. This award-winning design successfully creates distinct zones for both solitary dining and social gatherings while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that bridges historical industrial elements with contemporary functionality.
