Palace Cinema Cinema Design is an innovative interior architectural project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of cinematic experience and spatial design through its water-inspired concept. Located in Shanghai, this two-story cinema complex, completed in 2019, spans an impressive 6,463 square meters and demonstrates a sophisticated approach to entertainment space design. The concept draws inspiration from the metaphorical pulse of water, utilizing flowing forms and carefully selected materials to create an immersive environment that enhances the moviegoing experience. The design features a thoughtfully orchestrated progression of spaces, beginning with a bright, welcoming entrance on the fourth floor where white crystalline ceiling elements and bronze ripple patterns create a dynamic visual narrative throughout the walls, columns, and flooring. The third floor houses both Standard and IMAX screening rooms, with the latter specifically designed with stone grey tones and varying shades of grey faux leather seating to echo natural elements. The material palette, comprising marble, aluminum, fabric, carpet, glass, and specialized coatings, works in concert to achieve a subtle yet impactful aesthetic. The project's innovative approach to cinema design earned it the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in spatial organization, material selection, and conceptual execution.
