Pabellon Cuervo Music Venue is an innovative adaptive reuse project that transformed an empty industrial warehouse into a dynamic, multipurpose music and entertainment venue in Mexico City. This versatile space, designed by Juan Chavez and Mariano Badaracco, exemplifies sustainable design principles through its creative repurposing of industrial materials and modular construction approach. The venue, which can accommodate up to 4,000 people, features a sophisticated industrial aesthetic that pays homage to its warehouse origins while incorporating contemporary design elements. Distinguished by its remarkable flexibility, the entire venue can be disassembled in four days and reconstructed in seven, allowing for various event configurations and optimal space utilization. The design incorporates repurposed shipping containers converted into bars and facilities, complemented by strategic scaffolding structures that frame exits and support signage systems. A notable feature is the innovative noise-catching system, specifically engineered to address acoustic challenges in an earthquake-prone region. The venue's layout includes a VIP area with elevated viewing positions, multiple configurable bar arrangements, and specialized spaces for performers, including dressing rooms housed within a 42-foot trailer. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates excellence in sustainable design practices, spatial efficiency, and industrial aesthetics while successfully addressing budget constraints through creative material reuse and adaptable design solutions.
