Ovo Lounge Chair

Ovo Lounge Chair

Ovo Lounge Chair is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies contemporary Brazilian design sensibilities through its harmonious blend of form and function. Created by designer Renata Brennand, this distinctive lounge chair features a minimalist metal base complemented by a disproportionally sized backrest, creating an intriguing visual contrast that challenges traditional furniture proportions while maintaining exceptional comfort. The chair's design draws inspiration from the iconic Peacock Chair, reinterpreting its characteristic silhouette through a modern lens with sleek lines and organic curves. Crafted using a sophisticated combination of materials, including steel for the base and high-density foam panels for the upholstery, the chair showcases meticulous attention to detail in its construction. The upholstery process combines industrial precision, utilizing CNC-cut panels, with expert handcrafting techniques, particularly evident in the visible back portion that demands exceptional finishing skills. Measuring 650mm x 700mm x 800mm, the chair's thoughtful proportions make it particularly suitable for contemporary urban living spaces. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2019, demonstrates remarkable versatility through its ability to accommodate various upholstery options, including natural linen and leather, allowing for customization through different fabric combinations. The chair's sophisticated aesthetic and structural integrity make it equally appropriate for both residential and commercial applications, embodying a perfect balance between visual lightness and practical durability.
