Osvaldo Table Clock

Osvaldo Table Clock

Osvaldo Table clock is an innovative ceramic timepiece that exemplifies the fusion of functional design and artistic expression in contemporary furniture design. Created by the Milan-based MrSmith Studio, this distinctive table clock features sinuous shapes meticulously crafted with a single, harmonious pencil stroke, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1960s Italian cartoon La Linea. The design transforms the traditional concept of a timepiece into an engaging character that establishes an empathic relationship with its observer, functioning as an active element within home or office environments. Standing at 215 millimeters in height, with a width of 145 millimeters and depth of 135 millimeters, the clock's ceramic body is complemented by metal hands, demonstrating a masterful balance between form and function. The minimalist construction comprises only three essential elements: the body, hands, and mechanism, achieving remarkable aesthetic cohesion through careful material selection and precise engineering. This innovative approach to timepiece design earned the clock a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, recognizing its exceptional contribution to contemporary interior accessories. The design's unique character-driven approach transcends traditional timekeeping functionality, creating an interactive presence that animates its surroundings while maintaining its primary purpose of time display, representing a sophisticated blend of practical utility and emotional design.
