Osteria by angie Restaurant is an innovative culinary establishment distinguished by its sophisticated interior design that masterfully balances casual elegance with contemporary aesthetics. Located within a department store setting, this third iteration of the restaurant concept represents a significant achievement in spatial design, executed by Chen Wen-Hao of Earnestone design firm. The interior architecture harmoniously integrates multiple design elements, featuring a thoughtfully conceived layout that maximizes limited space while creating an inviting atmosphere. The design vocabulary employs a refined material palette, including meshed metal signage, light white wood, and light gray flooring contrasted with dark milky tiles, creating a visually striking environment. Notable architectural features include a carefully designed skylight with concealed cables finished in dark blue ash paint, and an accessible open kitchen with a pizza-making station that enhances the interactive dining experience. The space is further elevated by strategic lighting elements, including red chandeliers and wall mirrors that amplify the sense of spaciousness and vitality. Golden metal cubic elements extend from the entrance throughout the high-ceiling space, while walnut-colored tables with metal frames contribute to the sophisticated aesthetic. The design, which was completed between July 2015 and January 2016 in Taipei, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial innovation and aesthetic achievement. The restaurant's design successfully addresses the challenges of department store positioning by creating a distinctive environment that attracts visitors while maintaining the brand's core values of warmth and communal dining.
