Oscar Opticiens Optician is an innovative retail interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional optical store concept through its distinctive dual-space configuration and interactive design elements. Located in Grenoble, France, this 150-square-meter establishment seamlessly integrates standard optical eyewear and sunglasses sections through a sophisticated architectural intervention that challenges conventional retail boundaries. The design's cornerstone feature is a remarkable 3.75 x 3.10-meter interactive wall installation, incorporating 780 sunglasses as dynamic design elements that can be reconfigured to create various visual patterns, demonstrating an unprecedented fusion of functionality and artistic expression. The space employs angular colored surfaces and a distinctive diagonal line that flows across floors, cabinets, and walls, effectively unifying the old and new sections of the store. A meticulously crafted wooden corridor serves both as a transitional space and product display area, while the innovative display system utilizes steel walls with specialized holes and magnetic wooden sticks painted in coordinating green hues to create adjustable display mechanisms for eyewear. This groundbreaking design, completed in February 2012, earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognized for its exceptional approach to retail space transformation and customer engagement.
