Orizental Private Residential Apartment
Orizental Private Residential Apartment is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates Oriental Zen Culture, Contemporary Minimalism, and Subtle Luxury to create a distinctive Contemporary Zen living space. Located in Hong Kong, this 1,363-square-foot private residence, which includes a private lift lobby, represents a sophisticated interpretation of traditional Asian design principles through a modern lens. The design's most distinctive feature is its innovative incorporation of the Buddhist concept of 'Yuan Rong' (circular harmony) throughout the space, departing from traditional Oriental Zen designs that typically favor straight edges. This philosophical approach manifests in various architectural elements, including a traditional 'Moon Gate' carved from marble in the living room, symbolizing harmony and transition, and a round-coffered ceiling in the foyer complemented by elegant glossy white cabinets with crane wing-inspired curves. The master bedroom showcases a meticulously crafted headboard featuring curved leather upholstery between grand white metal panels with antique bronze finishing, while a lotus-shaped light trough encircles the ceiling. The project employs an array of premium materials including marble, timber, fabric, leather, and stainless steel trims, creating a harmonious interplay of textures and finishes. Natural and artificial lighting techniques are strategically implemented to enhance the spatial experience and emphasize the Contemporary Zen aesthetic. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional achievement in creating a tranquil urban sanctuary that successfully balances aesthetic sophistication with functional design, offering residents a space for meditation, relaxation, and contemplation.
