Original dots Spa Space is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of traditional Chinese philosophy with modern spa aesthetics, created by Taiwanese designer Lien-Wu Chen. This sophisticated wellness environment, spanning 1018 square feet, masterfully divides the space into distinct sections for male and female clientele while maintaining a cohesive design language. The concept draws profound inspiration from the ancient Chinese principles of Yin and Yang, manifesting through the creative use of overlapping circular motifs that symbolize the interplay between void and concrete spaces. The design's distinctive feature lies in its embryonic round dots pattern, which serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, creating a visual narrative of cellular division and regeneration. Completed in March 2016, the space incorporates premium materials including glass, mirror, veneer, and timber flooring to achieve its refined ambiance. The project's innovative approach to gender-specific spaces is realized through separate reception desks for each section, while the overlapping circular elements maintain visual continuity throughout the facility. This thoughtful design solution earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial organization, material selection, and philosophical integration.
