Oriental Fairyland Residence

Oriental Fairyland Residence

Oriental Fairyland Residence is an exemplary three-storey courtyard house located in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, China, that masterfully integrates traditional Song Dynasty aesthetics with contemporary living requirements. This sophisticated residential project, spanning 240 square meters, demonstrates a remarkable synthesis of cultural heritage and modern design principles, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design concept draws profound inspiration from four classical activities depicted in Song Dynasty paintings: hanging paintings, tea ceremony, flower arranging, and burning incense, interpreting these traditional elements through a contemporary lens. The spatial organization follows a thoughtful vertical progression of privacy, with social areas concentrated on the first and second floors, while the top floor houses private quarters. The interior design philosophy, termed Elegance Song Style, manifests through carefully selected materials, including environmentally conscious artificial microfiber leather for furnishings and predominantly wooden architectural elements supplemented by metal accents. The project's sustainable approach is evident in its optimized spatial layout that maximizes natural light and incorporates surrounding landscapes, effectively reducing energy consumption while creating a harmonious living environment. The design team's meticulous attention to detail extends to the creation of custom decorative elements, including paintings that reference historical artworks while maintaining contemporary relevance. The residence's aesthetic is characterized by the refined simplicity characteristic of Song Dynasty furniture design, featuring clean lines and minimal ornamentation, all while adhering to modern functional requirements and sustainable design practices.
