Once In A Blue Moon A Private Residence

Once in a Blue Moon A Private Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of global aesthetics with subtle Indian influences, realized within a 110-square-meter apartment space. The design, conceived by Prashant Chauhan and executed in 2020, features a sophisticated open-plan layout that seamlessly integrates the living area with a visually connected lounge and library space, distinguished by its centerpiece: a striking, larger-than-life moon print installation. The interior's composition is anchored by a bold yellow couch that serves as a focal point against a carefully curated grey backdrop, creating a dynamic visual contrast while maintaining an overall sense of sophistication and warmth. The space incorporates innovative design elements, including a glass wall fabricated using traditional carpentry techniques, equipped with a roller blind for privacy modulation. The project's success lies in its thoughtful balance of international design sensibilities with carefully integrated Indian artistic elements, catering to clients with global exposure while maintaining cultural connections. This design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial organization, material selection, and cultural sensitivity. The residence demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its low-maintenance design approach, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal through its careful consideration of color psychology, material selection, and space utilization.
