Omakase Restaurant is an innovative Japanese dining establishment that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional kaiseki cuisine with contemporary interior design aesthetics. The restaurant's design, conceived by Chief Designer Tianwen Sun and team, masterfully integrates the poetic elements of sakura (cherry blossoms) and dewdrops through an ingenious use of layered glass partitions, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow that achieves a dream-like atmosphere. Spanning two floors within a modest 140-square-meter space, the establishment demonstrates exceptional space optimization while maintaining an authentic Japanese dining experience. The interior design philosophy deliberately contrasts boundless pink sakura motifs with traditional golden tatami rooms, effectively creating an immersive sakura labyrinth that transforms the dining experience into a multisensory journey. The project, completed in 2019, showcases environmental consciousness through its careful selection of sustainable decorative materials, including glass, paint, and tatami. The space is equipped with modern amenities including central air-conditioning and fire safety systems, seamlessly integrating contemporary comfort with traditional aesthetics. The design's exceptional merit was recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and cultural interpretation. The restaurant's design successfully challenges conventional architectural norms while preserving the essential elements of Japanese dining culture, creating an environment where diners become integral parts of the artistic composition, much like figures in a freehand brushwork painting.
