OLED Portable Lamp

OLED Portable Lamp

OLED Portable Lamp is an innovative lighting solution that harmoniously blends traditional lantern aesthetics with contemporary LED technology, designed to address the common challenge of nighttime navigation in residential spaces. This sophisticated portable lighting device, created by designers Muzaffer Kocer and Ayca Guven Kocer, comprises two distinct functional components: a base unit housing a rechargeable battery system and an upper detachable portion that serves as a portable flashlight. The design, which garnered recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, features a thoughtfully considered form factor measuring 168 mm x 238 mm in height. The lamp's construction utilizes polypropylene for the main body and rubber for the handle, incorporating modern manufacturing techniques to achieve optimal durability and functionality. The innovative dual-component design includes a light pipe along the base edge that provides ambient illumination, while the portable upper section, powered by two lithium batteries, enables users to carry focused illumination wherever needed. This design's significance lies in its successful marriage of historical design elements, drawing inspiration from traditional gas lanterns, with contemporary technological capabilities, creating a practical solution for modern living spaces that eliminates the need to activate main lighting systems during nighttime navigation.
