Ohv Showflat

Ohv Showflat is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies innovative spatial planning and family-centric living solutions, conceived during the Covid-19 pandemic to address the evolving needs of contemporary urban families. This 102-square-meter, three-bedroom condominium showflat was meticulously designed to accommodate a family of four, specifically targeting young professional parents with preschool children. The design philosophy seamlessly integrates Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetic influences, creating a calming sanctuary above a bustling neighborhood. The interior architecture features a thoughtful reconfiguration of the original layout, incorporating open-plan spaces to combat cabin fever while maintaining distinct zones for individual activities. Notable design elements include a raised platform that ingeniously bridges the height difference between parents and children, transparent partitions for passive supervision, and strategically placed quiet zones for personal development. The material palette emphasizes durability and sustainability, utilizing high-pressure laminates and locally sourced materials that withstand family wear while minimizing environmental impact. Completed in October 2021, this Silver A' Design Award-winning project demonstrates exceptional attention to research-based design solutions, incorporating findings from human behavior studies during pandemic conditions. The showflat's design addresses five key aspects of domestic happiness: work-life integration, stress reduction through biophilic elements, efficient housework management, personal space creation, and multiple learning areas for children's development.
