Office Y01 Office

Office Y01 Office is an innovative interior design project located in the historical center of Sofia, Bulgaria, representing a paradigm shift in real estate office design through its forward-thinking approach to spatial organization and sustainable design principles. The 99-square-meter ground-level office space, completed in 2013, features a striking green wall as its central design element, visible through large display windows that create an engaging dialogue between the interior space and the urban environment. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, draws inspiration from the aesthetic sensibilities of mid-century American design and Bulgarian sculptural arts, particularly in its unconventional application of traditional flooring materials to wall surfaces. The space is characterized by its sophisticated integration of functional zones, including a minimalist white reception area and a versatile conference room equipped with bespoke folding tables that accommodate up to 35 people. The interior's acoustic comfort is enhanced through strategic use of parquet mosaics and carpeting on the walls, while the prominent green wall serves both aesthetic and sustainable purposes, communicating the company's environmental consciousness. This transformative design project successfully challenges traditional real estate office conventions in post-communist Sofia by creating an accessible, transparent, and welcoming environment that promotes public engagement and reflects contemporary business values.
