OCT The Rivirea Sales Center is an architecturally distinctive sales pavilion located on the west bank of Xianghu Lake, embodying a minimalist aesthetic through its striking floating square box design that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings through a sculptural connection to the park entrance. This innovative interior space project, completed in November 2018, demonstrates exceptional restraint in its design language, utilizing a sophisticated palette of black, white, and gray to create a powerful architectural environment that emphasizes spatial hierarchy and visual rhythm. The interior design, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully incorporates dramatic elements such as imposing black stone walls reminiscent of deep gorges, complemented by a white marble bar table that functions as a metaphorical bridge between these architectural features. The space's sophisticated lighting design adds a fourth dimensional element, carefully considering how natural light transforms the environment throughout different seasons and times of day. The project's philosophy centers on celebrating simplicity and present culture, moving away from traditional historical references to focus on contemporary values and natural reverence. A notable feature is the water bar table installation, which creates a serene atmosphere through the gentle sound of flowing water, while the overall spatial arrangement facilitates both formal presentations around the sand table and informal interactions in various chat rooms. The design's success lies in its ability to balance concealment and revelation, creating a sophisticated spatial rhythm that transcends mere aesthetic considerations to deliver a meaningful and functional commercial environment.
