Oasis Bathroom Sanitaryware
Oasis Bathroom Sanitaryware is an innovative collection of sculptural bathroom fixtures that reimagines traditional sanitaryware through the lens of global metropolitan influences, designed by Kostas Metaxas. This sophisticated series, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category, represents a paradigm shift from utilitarian minimalism to artistic expression in bathroom design. The collection encompasses bathtubs, toilet suites, and sink basins, each piece meticulously crafted to embody the distinct characteristics of major world cities: Paris's architectural grandeur, Milan's automotive elegance, London's eclectic charm, Barcelona's vibrant aesthetics, Vienna's imperial sophistication, and New York's futuristic vision. Utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques borrowed from luxury automotive and marine industries, the pieces incorporate high-pressure tooling for sanitaryware components and advanced drawn-plastics technology, including acrylic, fiberglass, and carbon-fiber materials for bathtub construction. The collection's technical specifications maintain practical functionality while achieving sculptural prominence, with bathtubs measuring 1500 x 750mm, toilet suites at 400 x 600 x 600mm, and sink basins featuring 400mm bowls. This design approach challenges contemporary minimalist trends by positioning bathroom fixtures as centerpiece sculptures, transforming daily rituals into contemplative experiences within a personal sanctuary. The collection's development, spanning from Paris to Athens between 2013 and 2014, represents a significant advancement in bathroom design, combining technological innovation with artistic expression to create spaces that elevate the everyday bathroom experience into a luxury ritual.
