NoWINA Wine Bar is an innovative architectural and interior design project that masterfully combines a wine bar, restaurant, and gallery space in the heart of Warsaw, Poland. This sophisticated establishment, which earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a harmonious fusion of historic preservation and contemporary design elements. The 250-square-meter space, spread across two levels, features seventeen carefully curated display windows showcasing an extensive collection of wine culture artifacts, including vintage corkscrews, tastevins, and ornamental bottles. The architectural centerpiece is a striking steel and glass cube housing the wine shop, where an ingenious stair-shelf system accommodates approximately 3,000 bottles, reaching dramatically toward the ceiling. The design thoughtfully preserves original elements of the 100-year-old building, including historic windows, doors, and floor tiles, while introducing modern architectural interventions such as a glass floor for display purposes and artistic light installations. The establishment's underground level serves as a versatile space for jazz concerts and wine tastings, contributing to its cultural significance. The interior design philosophy emphasizes the interplay between vintage and contemporary elements, featuring a collection of twentieth-century furniture pieces and industrial lamps that create an sophisticated atmosphere. The name NoWINA cleverly combines references to its location on Nowogrodzka Street with WINA (meaning wine), reflecting both its function and cultural context. The space demonstrates exceptional attention to technical details, incorporating features such as a five-meter-long antique bar, specialized tapas display systems, and carefully engineered floor reinforcements to accommodate large gatherings of up to 200 people.
