No Boundary Residential Apartment

No Boundary Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2019, located in Taichung City, Taiwan, that exemplifies contemporary spatial planning through its distinctive approach to open-plan living. The 100-square-meter apartment's design philosophy centers on the concept of versatile spatial penetration, utilizing axial partitioning rather than traditional solid walls to define different functional areas. The design's sophisticated layout features a public-facing entrance area that seamlessly transitions into an open-concept living space, effectively eliminating conventional spatial boundaries while maintaining functional distinction. The interior employs a refined material palette combining black and white elements with warm wooden textures, creating a harmonious balance between modern aesthetics and natural comfort. The widthwise indoor public area ingeniously integrates three distinct yet interconnected spaces: the living room, dining room, and bar kitchen area, each defined through modern architectural contours. Notable design elements include light grids at the foyer, white storage cabinets with mirror extensions, and a white marble television wall that maintains color consistency while providing subtle spatial separation. The private areas, positioned at the rear of the apartment, feature thoughtfully designed bedrooms with cocoa-colored padding and earth-toned elements in the master suite, while the secondary bedroom incorporates lighter wooden textures for a more casual atmosphere. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional space optimization through its elimination of traditional corridors and innovative use of materials, lighting, and spatial planning techniques. The design's sophisticated ceiling treatment, featuring widthwise extended black glass lines, creates a dynamic interplay with the white elements below, while the custom white leather sofa and round stone table contribute to the overall sense of refined elegance without compromising functionality.
