Nico Baby Cot
Nico Baby cot is an innovative and transformable infant furniture piece that represents a significant departure from traditional wooden crib designs, embodying contemporary aesthetics and functional versatility through its unique material composition and thoughtful engineering. Designed by German Jauregui and inspired by the birth of his son Nicholas, this revolutionary baby cot is manufactured using LLDPE (Low Linear Density Polyethylene) through rotomolding technology, marking the first application of this material in baby cot manufacturing. The design features elegant curved lines and is available in five different colors, measuring 150 cm x 92 cm x 87 cm in height. Distinguished by its adaptability, the cot transforms through multiple stages of a child's growth, featuring a dual-position mattress system that accommodates newborns in the upper position until they can sit up (approximately 5 months), then transitions to a lower position for infants up to 2 years old, and finally converts into a toddler bed suitable for children up to 4-5 years of age. The use of inert, 100% recyclable resin material ensures superior hygiene, safety, and durability while eliminating concerns associated with traditional wooden furniture such as splintering and chemical treatments. This innovative approach to children's furniture earned the design a Golden A' Design Award in the Baby, Kids and Children's Products Design category, recognizing its exceptional combination of safety features, aesthetic appeal, and functional innovation. The design adheres to Australian, European, and American safety standards, demonstrating its global market viability and commitment to international quality benchmarks.
