Newmoon Lighting

Newmoon Lighting

Newmoon Lighting is an innovative ceiling lamp design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functional illumination and artistic expression, created by industrial designer Nima Bavardi. This sophisticated lighting fixture draws its inspiration from the lunar surface, featuring a distinctive blown glass construction with strategically placed apertures that mirror the characteristic crater-like formations found on the moon. The design, which garnered recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, incorporates LED technology within its 40x40x40 cm framework, offering superior luminosity and energy efficiency. The lampshade's carefully crafted curved holes serve both aesthetic and practical purposes, creating an enhanced light diffusion pattern while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic appeal. The design's conceptual foundation stems from a desire to recreate the ethereal quality of moonlight within domestic spaces, establishing an emotional connection between users and their environment. Through its innovative use of materials, combining blown glass with modern LED technology, the fixture achieves optimal illumination while maintaining visual elegance. The design process, which spanned from September 2015 to January 2016 in Tehran, involved extensive research into lunar aesthetics and lighting technologies, resulting in a product that successfully merges performance requirements with artistic vision.
