Nereida Chandelier is a monumental lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of classical aesthetics and contemporary design innovation. Created by Ukrainian designer Oleh Syrbu, this remarkable chandelier represents a significant achievement in lighting design, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technological advancements. Standing at an impressive height of 7400mm with a width and depth of 1800mm, this masterpiece weighs 340kg and features a sophisticated composition of stainless steel tubes treated with a unique thermal process that creates a dynamic golden surface, which subtly shifts in appearance throughout the day in response to changing natural light conditions. The chandelier's distinctive design incorporates 85,000 colored crystal beads, deliberately chosen to replace traditional chandelier pendants, creating a fresh interpretation of classical lighting elements. The illumination system employs custom-designed LED modules with decorative copper heat sinks, delivering 28,000 lumens while consuming only 300 watts of power, demonstrating exceptional energy efficiency. The modular construction allows for adaptable height and diameter modifications, while the interchangeable bead system enables customization to complement various interior settings. This innovative approach to lighting design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, where it received the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing the field of lighting design through its combination of artisanal metalworking techniques, innovative material applications, and sophisticated technological integration.
