Nanna Lighting

Nanna Lighting is an innovative modular lighting system designed for indoor environments, specifically engineered to address sudden illumination needs and power failure scenarios. Named after the Sumerian moon god, this sophisticated lighting solution comprises interconnectable modular units that can function either independently or in conjunction with one another, offering remarkable versatility in application. The design employs conductive magnets at joining points, enabling units to connect seamlessly with each other or attach to magnetic metal surfaces, while incorporating advanced OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels that provide uniform illumination across the surface area. Each modular unit, measuring 25mm in radius and 18mm in height, is crafted from ABS plastic using injection molding technology and is powered by rechargeable NiMH batteries. The system features a charging base (107x107x9mm) compatible with both USB and AC adapter power sources, implementing an intelligent automatic activation system where units illuminate upon removal from the base and deactivate only upon return. This thoughtful design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2018, demonstrates exceptional functionality through its ability to serve multiple users simultaneously in different locations, making it particularly valuable during emergency situations or when temporary, targeted lighting is required. The integration of OLED technology with the product's form factor represents a significant achievement in contemporary lighting design, while its modular nature and magnetic connectivity system exemplify innovative approaches to user-centered design solutions.
