My Home Steak Restaurant
My Home Steak Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the traditional steakhouse concept through a sophisticated blend of natural elements and contemporary architecture. Located in Taiwan's Zhonghe District, this 1,000-square-meter establishment represents a significant evolution in restaurant design, transforming a conventional dining space into an immersive indoor forest experience. The design, created by Tsai Chin Ming and team, masterfully integrates eco-friendly materials and architectural elements to create a unique dining environment that earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design. The space is thoughtfully divided into five distinct seating sections, with a centerpiece self-service bar area featuring five roof-shaped wooden frames that create an arcade-like aesthetic. The design's distinctive features include an elaborate entrance with a double-layered wooden frame suspended from the veranda ceiling, complementing the interior's exquisite molding design. Environmental consciousness is reflected in the facade's construction, which utilizes low-polluting, recyclable wood wool cement boards that create unique textural effects under lighting. The interior combines various materials including marble, iron, laminate, ceramic tiles, and glass, creating a harmonious balance between elegance and sustainability. The restaurant's design philosophy emphasizes the connection between nature and urban dining, featuring irregular house-shaped glass windows, forest-themed printing installations, and diverse seating arrangements that create an atmosphere of dining within nature. The project's success lies in its meticulous attention to traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship, particularly evident in the hand-tiled ceramic work, while addressing the industrial district's lack of green spaces by providing an urban buffer zone where patrons can experience the confluence of culinary arts, culture, and natural elements.
