Mutualism Residential Apartment

Mutualism Residential Apartment

Mutualism Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful integration of natural light and spatial optimization. Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, this high-rise elevator apartment features a distinctive U-shaped architectural molding that maximizes natural illumination and park views for each residence, creating a seamless connection between indoor living spaces and the natural environment. The design philosophy centers on creating a calm and generous atmosphere while emphasizing the interconnectedness of different functional areas. The 100-square-meter apartment encompasses a carefully planned layout including a foyer, living room, reading room, master bedroom, guest bedroom, locker room, three bathrooms, dining room, and kitchen. A significant design intervention involves the removal of walls between the kitchen and study room, promoting fluid circulation and enhanced spatial connectivity. The interior aesthetic is characterized by an achromatic color scheme complemented by light wood veneers, creating a sophisticated and minimalist ambiance. Notable material selections include Lotos, an innovative eco-friendly material made from repurposed reservoir sludge from Taiwan, used for the television wall, while Italian tiles in the public areas maintain spatial harmony. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, demonstrates exceptional attention to sustainability through its use of low-toxicity materials and innovative construction solutions, addressing both environmental concerns and occupant health considerations.
