Mu Meilleur Medical Beauty Clinic

Mu Meilleur Medical Beauty Clinic is an innovative medical beauty facility that exemplifies the harmonious integration of therapeutic functionality and aesthetic sophistication in healthcare interior design. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this transformative project, completed in January 2022, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its thoughtful renovation of a first-floor apartment with an adjacent garden. The design, created by Chiawen Chen, addresses the inherent challenge of limited natural light by ingeniously incorporating glass brick walls, which not only facilitate light penetration but also create an engaging interplay of illumination throughout the space. The clinic's design philosophy carefully balances professional medical requirements with elements of comfort and privacy, utilizing curved architectural elements to convey femininity while maintaining clinical precision through sequential linear details. The spatial organization distinctly separates the outer waiting area from the inner treatment zones using striated glass doors, ensuring patient privacy while maintaining visual continuity. The innovative use of transparent structural adhesives for glass brick installation, combined with a staggered and standing stack pattern, represents a significant technical achievement in maintaining both structural integrity and visual appeal. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2023, showcases exceptional material selection through its harmonious combination of glass bricks, artificial stone, and walnut finishes, creating an environment that promotes both healing and aesthetic enhancement.
