Moon’s Wings Rocking Chair

Moon’s Wings Rocking Chair

Moon's Wings Rocking Chair is an innovative and artistically inspired furniture piece that exemplifies the convergence of functional design and poetic expression. Created by Italian designer Stefania Vola between 2011-2012, this distinctive rocking chair features a tubular metal structure complemented by shaped pillows upholstered in flame-retardant alcantara, creating a harmonious blend of durability and comfort. The design's most striking feature is its wing-like form, which creates a protective embrace around the user, offering a sanctuary from the external world. With overall dimensions of 740mm in width, 1800mm in depth, and 1300mm in height, the chair's proportions are carefully calculated to provide optimal comfort while maintaining its sculptural aesthetic. The design philosophy behind this piece centers on creating a dreamy, airy structure that invites relaxation and contemplation, making it particularly suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces such as spas, swimming pool areas, cocktail bars, and private residences. The chair's innovative design, which earned it the Platinum A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, successfully combines a reassuring sense of security with joyous lightness, embodying a perfect balance between functional furniture and artistic expression. The piece can be produced both in limited editions with customization options and in serial production, demonstrating its versatility in manufacturing approaches while maintaining its distinctive character as a shelter that soothes and embraces its occupant.
