MontGras Handcrafted Wine Packaging
MontGras Handcrafted Wine Packaging is an innovative wine label design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of artistic expression and functional packaging design in the premium wine sector. Created by Chilean designer Ximena Ureta, this sophisticated packaging solution encompasses a series of five distinct wine labels, each representing unique wines crafted from rare grape varieties harvested across different Chilean valleys in 2020. The design's distinctive approach merges dual artistic elements within each label, incorporating the signatures of five distinguished winemakers and featuring varying typographic treatments for numerical elements. The labels are produced using advanced digital printing technology on Fasson Cuvee Mareele White paper, incorporating sophisticated finishing techniques including Folia Gold Matte Luxor MTS 425, die-cutting, silkscreen varnish with mechanical relief, and UV protection varnish. The packaging demonstrates exceptional attention to sustainability through its use of FSC-certified, water-resistant Wet Strength paper, which ensures durability against aging and ultraviolet light exposure. The design successfully addresses the challenge of maintaining individual character while preserving a cohesive visual narrative across the series, with labels sized at 10.5 x 8 cm for Bordeaux and 8.5 x 9.7 cm for Burgundy varieties. This packaging design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, represents a significant achievement in combining artistic innovation with practical functionality, while effectively communicating the handcrafted nature and premium positioning of the wines.
