Modulabs Identity System is a comprehensive visual identity framework designed by Wonseon Yu and Yoonhee Jeong that embodies the principles of growth, co-prosperity, and challenge through innovative typographic design. At its core lies a distinctive variable typeface featuring a unique Growth axis with 300 incremental steps, enabling diverse shape expressions that reflect evolving experiences and progress. The system deliberately eschews geometric precision in favor of organic, humanistic qualities, employing intentionally imperfect letterforms to emphasize the value of experimentation and continuous learning over perfectionism. This identity system, developed in Seoul between September and November 2022, represents a significant departure from conventional corporate identity designs by eliminating traditional symbolic elements and relying solely on typography as its primary visual language. The system's implementation includes integrated tools that facilitate name creation for community members, demonstrating its practical application in fostering collaboration and accessibility. The design, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, showcases exceptional innovation in its approach to visual communication, particularly in how it translates abstract values into tangible design elements.
