Modern Residence

Modern Residence

Modern Residence is an exemplary contemporary living space that masterfully integrates sophisticated design elements with functional living requirements, completed in 2014 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. This 397-square-meter residence, designed by Wen-Ching Wu and Pei-Chun Peng, showcases a harmonious blend of aesthetic refinement and practical functionality. The interior architecture demonstrates exceptional spatial organization, featuring a thoughtful separation between public and private areas through an intermediary family room characterized by its brightness and openness. The design philosophy emphasizes material authenticity and chromatic consistency, employing gentle wood textures for flooring that creates a welcoming atmosphere throughout the space. The living and dining areas exhibit distinct spatial characteristics, with the living room embodying serenity while the dining space projects elegant grandeur, enhanced by gold and silver-plated crystal chandeliers and sophisticated stone-textured island bars. Notable design elements include dark wooden cabinets, stone walls, and carefully curated furniture pieces that contribute to the residence's poised aesthetic. The master bedroom features light colors and lattice wall treatments that evoke classical elegance, while the boy's room incorporates darker tones with wooden and iron elements to express a more contemporary character. This residential project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how modern interior architecture can successfully balance luxury with livability, incorporating artistic elements such as carefully positioned paintings and exquisite ceiling details that enhance the overall spatial experience.
