Metro Salon is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies contemporary salon aesthetics through its minimalist approach and industrial-style elements. Located in Taiwan and completed in 2022, this 195-square-foot space demonstrates sophisticated spatial planning with a focus on functionality and aesthetic refinement. The design, created by Kun-Sen Chang, features a thoughtful composition of gray and white tones, complemented by exposed concrete ceilings that pay homage to industrial architecture while promoting environmental consciousness. The salon's distinctive features include irregular metal ring pendant lights, marbled countertops, and a strategic layout centered around two core areas - the entrance counter and a central color bar that facilitates efficient workflow. The space incorporates high archways, floor-to-ceiling windows for natural illumination, and carefully planned LED lighting systems operating at 5800K to ensure optimal conditions for hair coloring services. The design's material palette combines polished quartz tiles, ironwork, system panels, and mirrors, creating a harmonious balance between functionality and visual appeal. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category stands out for its innovative approach to salon design, featuring orange accent seating that provides striking contrast against the monochromatic backdrop, while the curved architectural elements and thoughtful circulation patterns enhance the overall user experience.
