Metal Dasher Boards

Metal Dasher Boards

Metal dasher boards are a type of protective barrier used in ice hockey and other ice sports to enclose the playing surface and prevent players and equipment from leaving the rink. These boards are typically made of aluminum or steel and are designed to be sturdy and durable enough to withstand the physical demands of the game. They are also coated with a protective layer to prevent rust and corrosion from exposure to moisture. The design of metal dasher boards is critical to the safety of players and the integrity of the game. The boards are typically between 40 and 48 inches high, and are designed to be slightly angled inward towards the ice surface. This helps to prevent pucks from leaving the rink and also provides a surface for players to bounce off of safely. The boards are also designed to be slightly flexible, allowing them to absorb the impact of players and pucks without causing injury. One important consideration when designing metal dasher boards is the placement of the boards in relation to other elements of the rink, such as the glass and the player benches. The boards must be positioned in such a way as to provide a clear view of the ice for players and officials, while also allowing for easy access to the benches and other areas of the rink. Overall, metal dasher boards are an essential component of any ice rink used for ice hockey and other ice sports. They provide a critical layer of protection for players and equipment, while also helping to maintain the integrity of the game.
