Memory Of Light Office

Memory of Light Office is an innovative high-speed network computing center and supercomputer headquarters located in Hsinchi, Taiwan, completed in January 2021. This sophisticated 383.5-square-meter interior space, designed by Te-Chih Lo and Jia-Ru Chen, masterfully integrates scientific and technological concepts through the creative use of light lines and memory restructuring elements. The design's distinctive features include ceiling-mounted recycled tires that symbolize high-speed data transmission, complemented by patented circular metal sound-absorbing panels reminiscent of memory CD-disks. The space incorporates cutting-edge technology and intelligent systems, featuring unique design elements such as horizontal bars, swing installations, and climbing walls that metaphorically represent data transmission belts, frequency patterns, and upward progression respectively. The facility accommodates multiple functions including display areas, office spaces, and negotiation rooms, with advanced AI-driven unmanned interaction capabilities. Environmental consciousness is evident in the design's adherence to green building material standards and the inclusion of barrier-free access ramps that comply with Taiwan's building regulations. The project, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, demonstrates exceptional innovation in spatial design while maintaining a harmonious balance between technological advancement and user comfort. The design's thoughtful integration of functional elements with symbolic representations of digital technology creates a unique environment that reflects its role as a center for advanced computing.
