Memory Of Jiangnan Poster

Memory Of Jiangnan Poster

Memory of Jiangnan Poster is an award-winning graphic design work that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary visual aesthetics. Created by Yi Wu and Yanghua Yao at Seoul National University of Fine Arts, this 70x100cm poster represents a sophisticated exploration of Jiangnan culture, incorporating elements from ancient Chinese poetry, oracle bone inscriptions, and seal script typography. The design demonstrates a remarkable balance between traditional and modern artistic expressions through its innovative use of three-dimensional experimentation and graphic transformation of classical elements. The poster's conceptual foundation draws from the celebrated Chinese saying Everyone says Jiangnan is good, capturing the essence of Jiangnan's cultural significance as a symbol of Chinese literary and aesthetic traditions. Through careful deconstruction and reconstruction of cultural motifs, the designers have created a visual narrative that communicates the poetic grace and humanistic charm of Jiangnan culture to a global audience. The work, completed in 2021, exemplifies excellence in visual communication design, earning recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in 2022 in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category for its innovative approach to cultural preservation and modern artistic expression.
